We think of ourselves as a church
which is thoroughly embedded within the community we serve
A Community Cafe
We have a community cafe on St Helens Road which is open three days a week (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday) between 11am and 4-30pm and is run by church volunteers. We offer a wide range of drinks as well as hot and cold snacks and cakes. It is particularly used around school time and when there are groups like 'Knit and Natter' using the facilities. Everyone is welcome to use the cafe.
CAP Christians Against Poverty
Our sister church The Sports village church (See here ), offers debt counselling and money management courses in conjunction with Christians Against Poverty, a national charity based in Bradford based upon Christian principles and dedicated to raising people out of the cycle of poverty and debt.
Christ Church Pennington CE School
We have very close connections with our Church Aided Primary school; see their web site here there are a number of our church members who are part of the governing body and others are teachers and support staff. The children come into church throughout the year for services and church leaders go into school to leads assemblies most weeks.
